We are Brothers United Against Domestic Violence (BUADV)

We are a non-profit organization committed to bringing awareness to the horrors of the long-term affects that domestic violence and sexual abuse has on victims, families and their communities and helping men to take responsibility to stop it!
Although most of our participants are males, males are not completely responsible for all domestic violence, but surely enough damage has been done for them to be the primary focus of our organization. Sexual assault, bullying, date rape, intimate partner violence and anything like it must end! We recognize our vision is not monumental, but we are sincere and dedicated to this extremely important cause. “It is a matter of life, death and love!”
Brothers United Against Domestic Violence (BUADV) was started by Dr. Rodney Pearson, who is a professional licensed counselor for the state of Arizona. He has provided treatment and taught domestic violence classes at homeless shelters for women, in the prison for women, crisis counseling and sexual offenders treatment. He formed this nonprofit organization to bring awareness to these horrors and to put an end to domestic violence in communities, families and relationships across the world.
BUADV provides classes in the city of Buckeye, AZ, in Livingstone, Zambia, Africa and virtual classes online any where in the world.

I needed to take 36 court-ordered classes and I'm so glad I found BUADV! They allowed me to take all my classes online, and my counselor was really good to work with. The information was very helpful and I learned about my anger. I highly recommend BUADV to anyone who has to take DV classes.

After my husband was arrested for hitting me I didn't know what to do! I didn't know if I should leave or stay with him. I needed counseling to help me make the right decision and that is exactly what I got. The therapist at BUADV listened to me and was very comforting. She didn't tell me what to do but she helped me to sort out the situation and see the pros and cons that I was too exhausted to do on my own.

I needed more than domestic violence classes because I had a lot of anger and stress. The therapist gave me some tools that helped me to control my anger. Now I can focus better, I'm learning to think before I respond, and most importantly I'm learning how to love myself!

I attended a group meeting and was scared because I was the only woman in the class at first. I got along with everyone and the facilitator helped me to feel comfortable. Another lady started attending and I was able to help her feel comfortable enough to participate in the classes.

My first class at BUADV was on my 19th birthday and I didn't want to be there. The counselor surprised me and asked the group to sing Happy Birthday to me! That was so cool!
